This game requires a stop watch, seven baskets (or cardboard boxes) and seven household kitchen items that will require thought to identify (i.e., a ladle, cleaver, meat shears, cheese grater).

For the game, divide the youth group into two teams and allow each team to select three representatives who will leave the room. Afterward, place one kitchen item under each basket or box. Explain that each representative will be ushered back into the room (one at a time) and timed to see who can lift each basket in quick succession, verbally identify the item underneath each one as quickly as possible. Keep a record of each participant’s time and see which team rep can identify the kitchen items the most quickly.
