Who says kids don’t write letters anymore? Levi Voth, a 9-year-old Canadian boy, has written at least 230 of them—one to every world leader for whom he could find an address—and some of them have written back.

Voth doesn’t want to shoot the breeze with these busy leaders. He asks five specific questions of each of them, including what makes them proud of their countries, what they would like to change and what Voth should be sure to see if he ever comes to visit. “If you’re ever in Manitoba, Canada, I would like to go for ice cream with you,” he concludes each letter.

About 27 countries have responded. Some, such as Botswana and Denmark, give him travel advice. Others, such as the Hermit Kingdom of North Korea, just mailed back a pack of brochures. Still, the correspondence is helping Voth grow more familiar with countries that many of his peers never have heard of before. (CBC News)
