This is Jim Hancock’s attempt to squeeze 20 years of experience into a crash course on volunteer youth leading. Each two- or three-page chapter touches on an aspect of lay ministry with teens. Youth workers should read it cover to cover, then keep it around as a reference. It quickly will become the second-most-useful handbook for working with teenagers in the church. (If you can’t guess the first you probably should be fired.)

This book will be an indispensable tool for training youth workers. It provides excellent advice for those less frequent tasks, such as hospital visits, while touching on many of the finer points of student ministry.
