Who wouldn’t love a life road map written by those who have gone before us that warns about barriers, bumps and possible detours? Mirrors and Maps helps young girls navigate early adolescence with two essential travel tools. “First we’ll give you a rearview mirror so you can see where you’ve been and take stock of all God has done in your life up to this point. Then we’ll give you a map—a set of mile markers—to guide you as you find your way though this sometimes-bumpy part of life.”

The first five markers (chapters) discuss developmental realities. The next five ask girls to reflect on, and decide, what they want from life. Mile Marker 11 warns of pressures that often stop girls from getting the things they desire; the last two ask girls who they want to be.

This text can be used individually as a journey of reflection or within a small group as adults use this text as tour guides for the journey.
