Guys are Waffles, Girls are Spaghetti
Chad Eastham, Bill and Pam Farrel
Thomas Nelson, 2009, 240 pp., $12.99, ThomasNelson.com

As a teenage spinoff of Bill and Pam Farrel’s early works, Guys are Waffles, Girls are Spaghetti is a energizing addition to the books focused on gender differences. Revolve Tour front man Chad Eastham dishes up an insightful and entertaining book that addresses all the critical issues. From brain development to communication to failure, the author helps readers uncover the differences between the genders and how we can celebrate (and even laugh!) at them. The three chapters devoted to sexuality and dating are unrivaled—simply brilliant. “Sex is natural. It is also good,” Eastham writes. “Whether we choose to make sex incredibly wonderful or incredibly cheap is up to us.”

Speaking equally to guys and girls, this individual read is perfect for teenagers of all ages but might be particularly useful for younger adolescents as they prepare for the changes ahead. The study guide at the end is also a nice touch. Other than getting a bit clinical with some of the terminology, Guys are Waffles, Girls are Spaghetti is a good read and worth the investment.
