Find a large-print 2013 calendar. Cut it apart and spread all 12 months onto a table so the entire year is clearly visible at a glance. Invite the teenagers to circle dates on the calendar that are important to them (examples: their birthdays, holidays, move-in day at college, last day of school, etc.). After everyone has had time to circle days on the calendar, it should be heavily marked. Go through the calendar month by month, pointing to certain days and ask others in the group to identify why that circled date is important. This game is a great discussion starter if you are planning a year ahead or if you simply want to help the teenagers think about the importance of planning and making the most of the year ahead.
