YouthWorker Journal and Huntington University’s Link Institute for Faithful and Effective Youth Ministry are sponsoring an essay contest for high-school juniors and seniors. Winners will receive cash prizes and scholarships to Huntington.

The 1,200-1,500-word original essays must deal with the theme “The Church.” Essays might detail the writer’s experiences in the church; others might be the writer’s personal musings about what the Church stands for, its future or how it could better relate to teens. Writers are encouraged to interpret the theme however they choose.

The winning essay will be published in YouthWorker Journal, and the writer will be awarded $250 cash and a $4,000 annual scholarship to Huntington University (a $16,000 value at the four-year institution). The second-place entrant will win $150 and a $3,000 annual scholarship; and the third-place writer will win $75 and a $2,000 yearly scholarship. Top essays may be published on the YouthWorker Journal Web site  and/or on the Huntington University site.
