Star Wars: The Force Awakens hasn’t opened yet, and it’s already setting earnings records.

According to Fandango, the new Star Wars movie has become the biggest pre-seller in the history of the online company—earning a whopping $50 million (and counting) worth of tickets weeks before anyone’s seen it.

“Movie theaters are continually adding new show times on Fandango to meet the phenomenal demand,” Fandango said in a statement. “The enthusiasm for this year’s most anticipated movie is out of this world, and we expect it to continue all the way to its debut on Dec. 18.”

Many speculate that The Force Awakens could become the biggest movie of all time in North America and worldwide. Of course to do that, it’ll have to beat Avatar—a film that sold more than $760 million worth of tickets here and a total of $2.7 billion around the globe. (Fortune)
