Even as several states have decriminalized recreational marijuana use and several others are considering it, many younger adolescents feel that pot is the pits.

In 2013, nearly eight out of every 10 youth ages 12 to 14 say they strongly disapprove of people using marijuana. That’s up from 74 percent who said the same thing back in 2002. Fewer of them are using the drug, too: Just 4.5 percent of those same 12-14-year-olds said they’d consumed pot in the last year, down from the 6 percent who admitted usage in 2002.

The same cannot be said of young adults, however. While usage rates haven’t changed dramatically among 18- to 25-year-olds in the past 10 years, only 23 percent of these youth say they strongly disapprove of marijuana use. In 2002, that figure was at 41 percent. (LiveScience)
