Many teens using pot are getting medicinal marijuana meant for someone else. It’s called diverted marijuana, and about 74 percent of teens between the ages of 14 and 18 who have used the drug got it from someone else who had a prescription for it. Moreover, these same teens used this medicinal marijuana an average of 50 times. Researchers from the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus, where the study was done, believe more needs to be done to keep marijuana (in states where it’s legal) in the hands of those for whom it’s intended.
