The Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau has approved four flavors of Palcohol—that is, powdered alcohol that can be stirred into water or other liquids to create alcoholic beverages.

Mark Phillips, who founded Palcohol, says he created the powder in order to enjoy an alcoholic drink after a long hike without hauling around clunky bottles. Many critics believe the powder is at risk of falling into the hands of teens: Several states already have taken measures to ban Palcohol.

“Nothing even close to this has been on the market in the recent past in the United Sates, or ever,” said attorney Robert Lehrman on “CBS This Morning.” “Underage drinking is a big concern when it comes to powderized alcohol.” (CBS News)
