SUPPLIES: Index cards and masking tape

SET UP: Write the name of a famous person ono each index card — real or fictional, living or from the past. Choose names the group will know (movie, cartoon and comic book heroes work well, along with famous musicians and figures from history.)

THE GAME: Tape a card to each player’s back without showing the player the name written on it. Tell players to mingle, asking one another “yes/no” questions until everyone figures out his or her secret identity. If you want to make the game competitive, say that the first person to correctly guess his or her new name wins the game. Or have players keep trackof how many questions they must ask to guess their new name. The winner is the player who guesses correctly and asks the least number of questions.

GOING DEEPER:
• What did you learn about asking questions to uncover hidden information?
• In what ways was it difficult for you to talk to people you didn’t know well?
• What lessons can you apply from this game to meeting new people?
• How might you continue getting to know others in our group?
