What happened when Time magazine asked: “Now that Walter Cronkite has passed on, who is America’s most trusted newscaster?”
Your parents and/or grandparents may have gotten their daily news from Cronkite; but today, folks say Jon Stewart of Comedy Central’s “fake-news” broadcast “The Daily Show” is the most-trusted newscaster in America.
An online poll of about 9,000 people found that:
– 44 percent said Stewart was most trustworthy news;
– 29 preferred NBC’s Brian Williams;
– 19 percent named ABC’s Charles Gibson;
– 7 percent picked Katie Couric.
