This book is superbly suited to help youth workers lead new (and renewed) believers into a life of discipleship to Christ, but The Walk is rigorous: Within the first three chapters, the learner is expected to read the Book of Mark twice, memorize the Lord’s Prayer and the Apostle’s Creed and begin a journal. The book’s rigor makes it great for high schoolers who are looking for something deep, rich and adult-like. The book’s central focus—the Gospel of God, primarily taught from the Book of Romans—will satisfy those soul cravings.

Throughout the 12-chapter journey, numerous jewels speckle the path. There are assignments at the end of each chapter, reflection questions in the middle of passages, a hand illustration for learning how to pray, “Time Outs” that address questions ranging from the existence of free will to the biography of C.S. Lewis and a trio of valuable appendices.
