There is a God at Richie-Rich High School! Among typical dating problems, college decisions and some scandal, there are some good, moral values portrayed once you get past all the snobbery. A routine prayer circle is central to the storyline and tough topics such as sex before marriage, abortion and dealing with divorce are tackled head on. Despite the characters living in a world filled with designer clothing, private jets and European vacations, Lissa and her friends always come back to God.
The cattiness, gossip, promotion of dieting and slight sexual innuendo could be toned down a bit to give the story more merit, but these issues are portrayed in a realistic manner to which any high school girl will relate. In the end, this book has enough glamour to draw in a teenager but not too much to forget to stick in some Christian moral values.
