This whimsical mystery — the first installment in the Blue Water Mysteries series — provides great reading for young readers. Audrey Barringer is an average teenage girl until a strange mystery involving stolen art, strange symbols, and her favorite pastime — diving — land on her plate. The teen stops at nothing to clear her best friend’s brother from suspicion.

Tromp’s story is intriguing and creative with an inspiring message intricately woven through the pages. Nancy Drew better watch out; Audrey Barringer is giving her some competition.
