What are kids watching? Here’s the lowdown on three key shows:
• U.S. teen pregnancies are down, but MTVs popular “Teen Mom” series returned to the cable channel Jan. 11.
• “Skins,” an American version of a controversial British show, is generating even more attention for MTV. The series features plenty of sex, drinking and drugs. Episode one, which aired Jan. 17, featured masturbation, profanity and creative ideas for losing one’s virginity. The show is partly created by teens.
• “Glee” remains a popular show for many teens (and others). The new season begins Feb. 6 on Fox, following the Super Bowl.
