Scene:
Zach desperately trying to stand out. He wants to be recognized for his achievements and for people to say he is awesome. Bystanders are walking by and getting sucked into listening to Zach’s achievements.
*Have a sign up that says, “No praying on Wednesdays starting 9-29-10.”

Zach appears on stage with a table full of awards, trophy’s etc.

Zach: Hey, come here a minute. Look at this award I won for being the most chivalrous person in my school (holds up the metal knight). It was really hard to win this award, but I did it. They recognized me as one of the best.

Curtis: Well, you must be pretty proud of yourself (under breath says: Setting up a table on the street with your awards???)

Zach: Well, you know when you are good at something you tend to stand out. Hey, look at this trophy I won for being the best football player in 2009. I guess I stood out quite a bit to win this award. I was pretty amazing that year.

Curtis: I bet your parents are pretty proud of you. Hey listen, I have to go um.I have to wash my 1:20 bracelet um…But, a yeah, um…have a good day.
*Curtis exits while Zach is still talking to him.

Zach: Have a good day? Well as you can see I have had plenty of good days. I’m quite the stand-out when it comes to life.
*Admires his awards, hugs them, kisses them, etc.

*Nicole comes in walking and reading a book.

Zach notices Nicole.

Zach: Hey, how are you doing? (Doesn’t give her a chance to answer). Hey, you probably have noticed all these awards I have. Yup, I’ve won them all. I’m pretty great. You know, there is one award I didn’t get yet; but I’m really hoping to get it still. You see, I am a really good dancer.

Nicole: Hi. Who are you?

Zach: Who am I? (Surprised she doesn’t know him.) I’m Zach Campbell. Oh, I see you read books. You must not get out much, or you would know I am pretty important when it comes to…well, when it comes to just about everything. You might say I really stand out. Just look at all my awards! But back to me. Can I show you a little of my dancing? I’m going to try out for America’s Best Dance Crew.

Nicole: Don’t you have to have a crew?

Zach: Not me. Just watch.
*Music starts
Zach puts on a terrible dance routine.

Nicole: Wow. It’s hard to believe you haven’t won a dance award yet.

Zach: I know, right? (Does a dance move.)
*Evan enters with Tyler. Evan is carrying a small Bible.

Tyler: Evan, thanks for taking the time to listen to me. I was wondering what you thought of my problems I just shared with you.

Evan: Well Tyler, I think you are taking the right steps. I will pray about what you are going through.

Tyler: What do you mean, why would you pray about this? I don’t really want you to tell a lot of people.

Evan: Well, I pray to God. You see, He can handle so much more than I can. You know, you shared with me your problems. Well, I have problems to from time to time, and I go to God in prayer. I talk to Him about what’s going on in my life and ask for help.

Tyler: Well, I’m not the best at everything in life, and I have made some big mistakes.
*Zach listening from the background

Zach: Did I hear someone say “the best at everything”? Maybe I can help.

Evan: Oh,hi. We were just talking.

Zach: Well, I did overhear you say, “best at everything.” As you can see, I am pretty good at a lot of things. Maybe I can help you–and that would make me the best counselor! Is there an award for that?

Tyler: An award?

Zach: Yeah like a trophy, a plaque, ribbon…I guess you haven’t won very many.

Evan: Well, we’re going to keep walking. Have a good day.
*Continues past Zach and continues talking to Tyler.

Evan: So back to what we were talking about. What do you think if we just stopped right now and prayed to God about your problems? I would love to pray for you.

Tyler: I guess that’s OK. I never really prayed before. Can you do the praying?

Evan: Sure. Dear God, I just want to ask for some help and guidance for Tyler’s problems. I know You can help them. God, would You show yourself in a way that gives Tyler a peace that only You can give? Amen.”
*Sign says no praying on Wednesdays in the back ground
*Zach notices that Evan is praying. He looks at the sign–even points.

Zach: Wait a minute. Were you just praying?

Evan: Yes. I pray every day. Why?

Zach: Did you see this sign? It says “NO PRAYING ON WEDNESDAYS!”

Evan: Well my friend needed prayer today.
*Evan exits one side of stage and another person exits the other.

Zach: I’m going to tell the Prayer Police. Maybe Crime Stoppers will give me an award for catching someone praying on a day when they shouldn’t!!! Yes another award that will make ME stand out!
*Starts to exit, then comes back to grab as many awards as he can.

Conduct a short Bible study on Daniel’s courage and how he continued to pray.
