Reach Out: Don’t Freak Out
Greg Stier
Dare 2 Share Ministries/Group Publishing, 2011, 96 pp., $8.99

Teenagers may agree with the idea of sharing their faith, but many don’t know how to get past the fear of doing so. This student devotional strips away the excuses and helps young people face the awkwardness of talking about Jesus Christ with the people in their lives. Stier takes an unapologetic approach that expects teens to respond instead of putting it off any longer.

Each chapter in this 30-day challenge is filled with Christ-centered thinking and useful tips. This translates into a realistic approach that ultimately helps teenagers learn they are part of something much bigger than themselves that happens to involve them. It’s a pep talk that doesn’t offer a quick-fix, but an embracing of a journey.

As an added bonus, Stier created a website and Facebook page for students to join. All of this underscores a large theme in the book that we are engaged in something that involves peers across the globe. Perhaps that alone is a strength and provides some stability that will help young people find their evangelistic voice.
