The Gloucester school committee has voted to allow contraceptives to be distributed at the high school’s health clinic with parental consent.

School Committee chairman Greg Verga said the Wednesday night vote was unanimous.

The city made headlines this summer after Time magazine reported that some of the 17 pregnant girls at the high school had entered a “pact” to have kids and raise them together. Mayor Carolyn Kirk and some of the pregnant girls denied any pact existed.
