When Kara Durbin began her search for a topical Scripture reference book for parents, her investigation ended fruitlessly. Fortunate for us, she decided to write Parenting with Scripture to fill that need.

First and foremost, this is a reference book. There are about 200 topics arranged alphabetically from Anger all the way to Worry. Each one has a definition, several Scripture references, discussion questions for parents to utilize, and a “Take Action” section offering challenges and/or follow-up activities.

Although the content could be adjusted for adolescents, it’s definitely a more applicable and useful tool for elementary aged children.

On top of its use as a reference tool, it could make a more than sufficient resource for Scripture memory work or a topical devotional for a young family.
Regardless of how you decide to use this, if you are looking to incorporate more Scripture into your teachable moments with your kids or the kids of the ministry around you, this would be a great, easy to navigate resource for you to start using.
