This intensely practical book will help parents provide the best education and home life for their children with AD/HD. Angelotti’s premise is that God has a special purpose in mind for “learning-different” children and that God does not make mistakes. In a truly wholistic approach, she helps parents understand the biological roots of six different types of AD/HD and helps parents navigate through the medication decision. She walks parents through their options for schooling, providing lots of options and numerous resources. The book also addresses how having a child with AD/HD affects family dynamics and provides helpful ideas for making the family stronger.

Some may find her emphasis on overcoming the “sea of denial” a bit too strong, as well as her emphasis on medication, traditional therapy and behavior modification. Angelotti does not address the efficacy of any alternative treatments for AD/HD. Also, the five-week Bible study for couples is a bit weak.
