Arrange for a pianist to bring in a book of favorite Christmas music (carols and hymns). Divide your group into two teams and allow one person from each team to compete against each other in naming the carol. The pianist will begin playing each carol slowly, in a one note method, and the first from each team to name the carol successfully earns a point for his or her team.

This game can be played for 20 to 30 minutes and can very challenging and fun. As an option, you can play this game by allowing each person to say they can name the tune by hearing only a certain number of notes. “I can name that tune in (three), (four) or (five) notes” for example. A person who is successful in doing so earns a point. Unsuccessful players default the point to the other team.
