The #1 Entertainment Destination for Christians, HollywoodJesus.com is celebrating their 10th Anniversary this year. “Believe it or not, it was in January of 1998 that I sent my first e-mail message,” says Hollywood Jesus creator David Bruce. “Then, at the end of February 1998, I was on the Internet with this website. I’m a fast learner. I’m very proud of Hollywood Jesus, which differs from most other review sites by Christians in that it presents the parallels between individual entertainment projects (films, music, books, comix, tv, and video games) and the Gospel — without passing judgment on objectionable elements. God uses our culture to reach the culture (Acts 17). If I can help a person to know Jesus better, then I am happy.”

HJ also announced the appointment of J. Alan Sharrer as Book Review Editor.  Alan studied under the tutelage of David Veerman, editor of the Life Application Bible, while earning his Masters in Communications at Wheaton. He earned his BA in Religious Literature Writing at Furman University, and was coeditor of Day by Day with the Early Church Fathers and 108 Questions Children Ask About Friends & School. So what do books offer in today’s culture? “A book allows a person time to think about a subject,” he says. “Web pages and text messages can be easily forgotten. But with a book, one goes back in time to the story itself, relives the story, then brings back something that is useful and relevant for today.”
