“High Fives” is a unique twist on the standard relay race. Form teams, with each person on the team being about 10 feet apart.

The first person in line will relay a small item into the waiting hand of the next person on the team (and so on until the item reaches the last person. The twist is each person must pass the item along to the next teammate by relaying the item as a high-five. In other words, both passer and recipient must have his or her hands high in the air.

If an item is dropped, it must return to the front of the relay, and the team begins again. Items that work well in this challenging form of relay include: a superball, a lump of modeling clay, a rolled-up sock, a grape, a tomato, etc. Create your own wacky spin by making this one as simple (or as messy) as you like.
