The Treasury Department has launched a campaign to educate youth about the importance—and dangers—of credit.

The campaign, which targets 18- to 24-year-olds, includes videos, radio spots and an Internet game playable in English and Spanish. Some might say the campaign, launched during the bailout crisis last fall, might’ve been better timed; but officials say it actually couldn’t have been better.

“I think recent events have highlighted the importance of understanding the impact your financial decisions can have on your life,” says Treasury spokeswoman Jennifer Zuccarelli. (New York Times)
