“The heads of all the houses came together in order to study the words of the law” (Neh. 8:13).

In recent years, we have seen the rise of various think tanks and inter-disciplinary teams. In our time, there is great demand for new products and services that can only be developed by out-of-the-box thinkers. Why not use this same methodology in the church?

Consider what could happen (or what could be accomplished for God) if we were able to tap into the enormous and varied gifts evident in our relationships. We all have friends and family who work in business or non-profit organizations or who are self-employed across the spectrum. Likewise, there are many gifts in ministry, people with varied perspectives and talents who have learned a great deal from their years of experience.

What would happen if we came together and formed our own think tank? How would your ministry be transformed if you tapped into this abundance of experience and thought?

Today, take a few minutes to consider who would be on your dream team. Perhaps there are parents, leaders and teenagers who would be willing to come together and help shape the future of your ministry. Everyone in ministry needs a team…a trusted group of allies who can inform, inspire and encourage. Without a team, we often drift into loneliness and despair. We often miss the benefit of having a wealth of ideas with which to work. No one person can do it all.

When we come together for study and brainstorming, great things happen for God. Ministry is shaped by the many, and all things work together, as we know, for good.
