As tattoos gain acceptance, the parlors that create them have begun migrating from the edgier parts of town to suburban malls and exclusive boutiques. The parlors aim to capture more of the growing market of young people: Some 36 percent of 18- to 25-year-olds now have tattoos, compared with only 10 pecent of their parents’ generation, according to the Pew Research Center.

Discussion Starters:
1.) Why do you and your students think tattoos have become “more acceptable.” Is it because more people are getting them, or are more getting them because it’s viewed as more acceptable?
2.) Do any of your students have tattoos or plan to get them? What prompted them to want to “get inked”?
3.) Leviticus 19:28 makes clear God’s position on tattoos. What is it? Discuss why He takes this position. What other verses can you find that relate to this topic?
