This game, played in a large grassy area, is perfect for large groups. First, draw two parallel lines in the grass (about 15 yards apart). Lines can be drawn with spray paint or by using a baseball diamond line marker (with crushed lime). After dividing the group into two teams, with each team standing behind one line facing the other team, give each team a dodge ball. Instructions to play this game are as follows:

One person from each team throws the ball toward the other team (in the air). If the person throwing the ball does not throw it as far as the other line, that person is out and must stand in the middle between the lines. If someone on the other team catches the ball, the person who threw it is out (and must stand in the middle). If someone on the other team attempts to catch a ball and drops it, that person must stand in the middle. Play continues until only one person is standing behind his or her team’s line.

This game is a modified version of Dodgeball but can be played on a larger scale (and outdoors without walls or contact).
