Parents often worry about how much violence children are exposed to in media—television, music, video games. But according to new figures from the Justice Department, a more serious problem may be the level of violence children witness in real life. About 60 percent of children were exposed to violence last year. About half say they themselves were assaulted, with a staggering 6 percent admitting they’d been assaulted sexually. One in five children between the ages of 14 and 17 say they’ve seen a shooting. (Associated Press)
