99 Thoughts on Leading Well: Insights for Leaders in Youth Ministry
By Reza Zadeh
Simply Youth Ministry, 2010, 129 pp., $6.99

The first chapter alone is worth the price of the book. This is a great pocket handbook to leadership. It’s subtitle mentions leaders in youth ministry as its target audience; however, this book is a great leadership book for anyone in a leadership role in the local church.

The book is a compilation of Zadeh’s leadership experiences, proverbs and lessons that came about through trial and error. In essence, this is a book that was written so that youth workers can lead and know how to lead without the trial-and-error process. There will be trials and errors in other parts of ministry, but leadership does not have to thanks to this book.

It teaches you those things that seminary does not teach you.

Seminary teaches you about the Bible and the gospel, but it does not teach you how to do ministry. This book teaches time management, communication and what to focus on as a leader.

This is a great book to keep around for all situations.
