Last year brought a flood of movies, books, youth ministry resources and viral videos. Here’s where you can find the best of the best.

First, YouthWorker Journal‘s reviewers picked their RAVES of the best youth ministry resources of 2009.

As for movies, the last shall be first. Even though Avatar came out late in the year, it was the biggest grossing film at the box office in 2009 and may even become the biggest film of all time. (To do this, it would have to pass its director’s previous film Titanic.)

Also, SpiritualityandPractice.com recently announced its list of the “Most Spiritually Literate Films of 2009.”

In 2009, all of us received e-mails about viral videos that were spotted on YouTube or a similar site and rapidly became national or international sensations. Entertainment Weekly ranked the top viral videos of the year.

Vampires dominated the world of books. According to USA Today‘s rankings of the Top 100 books 2009, books in Stephanie Meyer’s Twilight series took the top for positions.

Other books in the top 10 included Dan Brown’s The Lost Symbol, religious novel The Shack and two books in the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series.
