Leaving the generic clichés behind, each of the daily devotionals is written from a personal place, sure to connect to young readers. Each devotional also includes thought-provoking questions, scriptural context, and a challenge to activate readers to live out what they are reading.
While the selection of middle school and pre-teen ministry-specific resources is beginning to grow, it’s still slim pickings. This devotional is a welcome addition to my library as a middle school pastor working with seventh and eighth graders. For those who always are looking for something to give to students who are seeking to begin or continue a devotional life, this book is perfect. I’m looking forward to the soon-to-be-released companion to this book for eighth graders.
