Youth Culture Update: Girls More Prone to Depression than Guys

Adolescent girls are more susceptible to bouts of depression than their male peers, according to a study by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration. Researchers found that 12 percent of girls between the ages of 12 and 15 have suffered a "major depressive episode," compared to just 4.5 percent of boys. (The Hill)
