1. Do NOT use cheesy Christian clip art and try and pass it off as "cool." Your youth ministry group can smell that a mile away. They call it "Christian cheese."
2. Do NOT call your local print shop guy. Every year, we have to bail out hundreds of youth ministries that go with a local print shop instead of someone who specializes in custom youth group T-shirts. Don't get us wrong -- we love being the hero; but we know you do not need the extra stress or expense.
3. Do NOT assume you are cool. Coolness is a tricky thing as you get older. This is putting it mildly. Teenagers are and forever will be the experts on cool, so make sure to get them involved in picking out their design.

4. Do NOT underestimate the power of a t-shirt. Six weeks after God rocked their world at camp, they wear the shirt to school where another student asks about it. God can use it to create an opportunity to capture another young person's heart. We hear countless stories such as this, and it is so exciting! Any tools we can give our young people to share and express their faith we should!
5. Do NOT forget to add additional promotional items to go with your youth group t-shirts. From journals to water bottles, you'll be surprised how cheap these little special somethings are and how much of an impact they can have years later.
Now that we have educated on what not to do, here are a few tips on what will make your youth sing your praises.
1. DO have professionals create your design. Two words: Uth Stuph.
