This a game that I recall playing back in the 1970s. Have a local farmer or wood craftsman bring in a freshly cut log (1′-long or less works fine). Begin the game by counting out the rings in the wood (one ring equals one year). Count back in time and ascertain when the tree began to grow (or how old the log is). Then, once you know the year, invite the teenagers to use the Internet to create a Top 10 list of events that happened in that year. (The last time I played this game with teens, we were looking at year 1921.)
