Disney recently told visitors to leave their selfie sticks at home when visiting one its theme parks, making them one of a growing legion of attractions to ban the devices. Now Russia is cautioning locals and visitors that selfies themselves can be dangerous.

In the wake of 10 deaths and approximately 100 injuries attributed to selfie-taking, the government has launched a national campaign, warning people not to take selfies while handling firearms, posing near wild animals and heavy machinery and several other potential dangers. “A cool selfie could cost you your life,” the government’s brochure reads. “A selfie with a weapon kills.” (The Guardian)
