Rebecca Boyd was not pleased. She was trying to watch a movie at a theater in Birmingham, Ala., with her husband, but a couple of teens behind her kept giggling, talking and kicking her seat. Finally, Boyd had enough:

“You know girls, we paid for this movie just like you did,” she told them. “Could you guys keep it down?” They could not. In fact, the girls laughed at her.

When the girls—their little brother in tow—returned home, the boy told the girls’ mother, Kyesha Smith Wood, what happened. Wood was horrified and took to Facebook, hoping to find the woman whose movie experience was ruined.

“I can assure you that these girls are being strongly dealt with and appropriately punished,” she wrote. “This rude, disrespectful, and awful behavior is unacceptable and they owe you an apology. My husband and I are having them write your apology letter tonight and we would like to pay for your next movie and snacks out of their allowance.”

The message went viral, eventually triggering 250,000 likes. When the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office reposted the message on its own site, Boyd posted a response.

She quickly accepted the apology. “I believe they’re good girls,” Boyd said. “They just made some mistakes.” (ABC News)
