Eighth-grader Kirsten Femson wanted to give her classmates a special graduation gift, so she wrote letters to many well-known Christian leaders and wise acquaintances asking them to “share words of wisdom and inspiration for her teenage friends.” These messages of challenge and encouragement were compiled later and published as a teen guide to growing in God’s wisdom. This is a lot of wisdom to digest in one read but would work well for a devotional reading. The yearbook layout with pictures, hearts and flowers would probably appeal more to girls than boys as a year-end gift. This is an intriguing rite-of-passage project. What would a youth group look like if every young person asked the people they admire for advice about their Christian walk?
