Covenant: Knowing God-His Relationship With His People
By David Platt

Clarity Publishers, 2006, 255 pp., $??, www.studentlifebiblestudy.com

Covenant is the fourth book in a six-part series by Student Life Bible Study. This one-year devotional journal gives teens a refreshing look at what it means to intimately know God’s heart. David Platt challenges the reader to be different, using both inspiration and encouragement to motivate the pursuit of being righteous, trusting, obeying, and walking with God. He masterfully weaves biblical and personal stories, Scripture, and biblical people into an illustration of the process for developing and maintaining a covenant relationship with God. His tactics capture the imagination and provoke thought and reflection on the four characteristics of covenant, including: relationship with God, God’s unchanging promises, grace, and faith. Covenant lovingly conjures up images of a lifelong, all-consuming romance with God in the reader’s mind. If you are looking for a high-quality study that is suited to both the individual high school teen and groups, check this book out.
