The Blogging Church
By Brian Bailey with Terry Storch

Jossey-Bass, 2007, 199pp., $19.95 www.josseybass.com

This is the Mary Poppins of tech-meetsministry books: practically perfect in every way. If your church is looking for a way to engage members outside of Sunday in a personal way and give unchurched folks in your community a glimpse into what you’re all about (and do it all for free), then your church is ready to become a blogging church.

Brian Bailey and Terry Storch explain how a blog can revitalize church communication. The suggestions are insightful, even for those already deep in the blogosphere. But the overall tone is low-tech enough to relax those on their first jaunt into cyberspace. With a step-by-step explanation of how to successfully start and maintain a blog and a great argument for the almost-guaranteed benefits, this handbook of digital outreach is sure to woo even the staunchest “back in the day” diehards.
