Making Ripples

Making Ripples
By Mike Breaux
Zondervan, 2007, 112 pp., $12.99, www. Zondervan.com

This book is a transcription of a message Mike Breaux delivered at Willow Creek Community Church, where he is a member of the teaching team. What you lose reading rather than hearing the message is his Kentucky flavor and great laugh. But the book is a very quick read and reflects his delivery style: narrative, practical, great stories, and homespun humor. Breaux is a powerful communicator.

Making Ripples is a challenge to see our lives as more than simply a feather floating on a breeze (drawn from Forrest Gump). Is our life “on purpose”? Mike pushes hard against the “whatever” mindset of many adolescents. This book is very teenage-friendly. It would be a great read for students struggling with self-image, self-worth, and purpose.

Breaux challenges us to begin Making Ripples that will move the lives of others toward Christ.
