The Perfect Program and Other Fairy Tales: Confessions of a Well-Intentioned Youth Worker
By Josef Klam

NavPress, 2005, 134 pp., $12.99 each, www.navpress.com

David Chow is a veteran youth ministry worker with more than 15 years of experience. As a youth worker, author and speaker, David has crafted a communication style that is easily consumed and digested by the reader. This book is a window into the common struggles and misconceptions of youth workers everywhere. As stated in the introduction, David hopes the book will assist others in discerning “the true definition of success.” With such a lofty goal in place, I believe that David Chow has fulfilled his mission in sorting through the ambiguity of success in ministry. While this book offers encouragement for the seasoned veteran, it also is a great tool for others to gain better understanding of the life of youth workers. A great read.
