Fuel Fire Starters: Superheroes & Fables

By Tony Myles | May 2008

Although Lifeway has taken steps in recent years to provide sharp video resources with quality eye candy graphics, the content of this compilation unfortunately falls flat.

Superheroes and Fables is a DVD containing ten original videos intended to start discussions in youth groups. Although the selections are described as “short videos,” half are over six minutes long (and unfortunately feel even longer when you’re watching them). While the production is solid visually, the dialogue is more strained than structured, the acting more amateur than adequate, and the writing more cutesy than constructive.

It’s obvious that several people had fun creating this for the sake of helping better communicate the Gospel. No one can fault that motive and effort, but the fact remains that the final product is too weak for a resource priced so expensively. At the end of the day there are more effective multimedia resources that would merit money from your budget.
