Leadership Revolution: Developing the Vision and Practice of Freedom and Justice by Wayne Gordon and John Perkins. Both of these men have transformed neighborhoods by initiating holistic community development. In time, they have grown a network of supporters who share their vision. There are three things I found noteworthy about this book. First, this was based largely on the authors' experiences in the trenches of urban ministry and they stress the importance of biblically based servant leadership. Second, it is helpful for youth workers who want to teach leadership principles and students to who want to put their faith in action. Third,
Leadership Revolution gives the Christian Community Development Association's history and philosophy. This is an excellent book by which the Christian community can facilitate a leadership transition. It gave me a much better understanding of what that involves.
