mY Generation: A Real Journey of Change and Hope

Josh James Riebock

Baker Books, 2009, 208 pp., $14.99, BakerBooks.com

Seventy million people in the United States are members of Generation Y. In mY Generation, Riebock offers readers an encounter with the unique stories and challenges of this segment of our population. Never before have people been more connected and disconnected at the same time. The tension of information gluttony of social networking and constant communication and brokenness and loneliness is the hallmark of this generation of those born between the late 1970s and early 1990s.

Riebock tells riveting stories. It's easy to see yourself in his experiences and his characters. Some stories made me laugh; others tightened my throat because the stories are real and really familiar. Riebock then offers relevant guidance that invites readers to imagine a hopeful way forward where people in darkness begin to shine.
