Teen Sleeping Trends
By Damien O'Farrell
The amount of sleep teenagers get is affected by their family's income and the use of healthcare.

According to a study authored by Stephanie Apollon, Amy Wolfson and colleagues of the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Mass., teenagers begin getting insufficient amounts of sleep early in adolescence.

The study also demonstrated that teenagers from families making less than $40,000 experienced significantly more delayed sleep patterns, less sleep per night, and more caffeine use.

According to medical professionals, adolescents should be getting nine hours of sleep each night.
