This spring, a bevy of newly minted college grads are marching across the stage, grabbing their diplomas and cruising headlong into new lives. Their first stop? For many, it’ll be Mom and Dad’s house. According to a survey by Twentysomething Inc., about 85 percent of new college grads plan to move back in with their parents, at least until they find a job. That job could be a long time in coming: The unemployment rate for youth 25-and-under is perhaps as high as 54 percent, even with the economy improving. “Graduates are not the first to be hired when the job markets begin to improve,” says Rick Raymond of College Parents of America. “We’re seeing shocking numbers of people with undergraduates degrees who can’t get work.” (Time)
