New Kid-Run Magazine Unveiled

A new magazine, designed by kids to be read by kids, hit the market this April.

KidSpirit magazine, which is based in Brooklyn, N.Y., and has an editorial board completely made up of children and teens, targets children ages 11-15 and encourages them to grapple with issues related to faith, spirituality and morality. The first issue, for instance, includes stories on spirituality and nature, climate change and Tai Chi Chuan—as well as original poetry, book reviews and art.

“We’re kids trying to talk to kids about important matters,” says Anna, an eighth grader on the editorial board. “We are the future; we need to share who we are and our ideas...”

The non-denominational magazine has no ads and is printed on recycled paper.
