Despite repeated warnings, youth still are spending too much unprotected time in the sun, according to researchers. Half of young adults between the ages of 18 and 29 say they’ve suffered a sunburn in the past year, and most don’t use sunscreen. Young men were particularly apt to skip the sunblock, with only 15.6 percent saying they used it. Another study found that tanning beds are still popular with youth, with 5.6 percent of adults saying they’ve used one at least once. That’s an important figure, given that folks who use a tanning booth before age 35 are 75 percent more likely to get skin cancer. (Time)
